Republican Ray McBerry, a two-time failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate, saw his pending libel suit against a campaign adversary complicated this week when he was asked to provide a list of partners with whom he has partaken in "physically intimate, romantic, or sexual relationship[s]."
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports:
"In November, four months after he was culled from the Republican [primary] race for governor, Ray McBerry filed a libel suit against a Henry County woman for referring to him, on a Facebook page, as a "child molester" during the campaign."
Now the woman's attorney is asking for a trove of personal information about McBerry's sexual history.
The AJC outlines several of the attorney'sspecific requests.
"Identify all persons with whom you have had physically intimate, romantic, or sexual relationship," the document demands, specifying that they want details from the period between 2002 and the present. "Identify all instances in which you have been accused of any kind of sexual misconduct. For each such instance, identify the person(s) who accused you, the date of the misconduct, and the nature of the misconduct."
Linda Pittman, the defendant, posted the molestation accusation on Facebook during McBerry's 2010 campaign, having already alleged in 2003 that the political hopeful had engaged in an improper relationship with her 16-year-old daughter while he was employed as a high school teacher.
In the aftermath of those claims, McBerry admitted giving the underage girl a personal cell phonethat allowed her to communicate with him without parental tracking -- he ultimately stepped down from his position at the school. The state's licensing board later sanctioned him for his behavior during the investigation.

LONDON, July 5 — Fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has scoffed at Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s accusation that he is funded by Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and therefore untrustworthy.
Referring to other media outlets in Malaysia which are either owned or controlled by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, the controversial Malaysia Today writer rubbished the prime minister’s suggestion that political backing equated to a lack of credibility.
“Well, isn’t New Straits Times backed by Umno? The Star, by MCA?” he said here yesterday.
Najib had said the people should not believe the claims made by the blogger, who has fled to London, and challenged the Malaysian government to bring charges of sedition, criminal defamation and an appeal against his release from the Internal Security Act to the United Kingdom’s courts.
“If Raja Petra is funded by the opposition, it means that his statements are politically-motivated. We should weigh them carefully and not merely [accept] them,” Najib told reporters after opening a Pekan Umno meeting yesterday.
Speaking to The Malaysian Insider here, Raja Petra said that all media outlets were backed by investors with some kind of agenda, regardless of whether they affected the editorial direction.
“So is he saying that we shouldn’t trust any media?” he retorted.
The member of the Selangor royal household has been a thorn in Najib’s side even before he stepped up to the premiership, with the most prominent allegation being over the latter’s involvement in the murder of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shariibuu.
When quizzed on whether he was receiving any money from the federal opposition, Raja Petra replied that “I am trying to raise money for Pakatan, not take it from them.”

The Barisan Nasional, the national ruling coalition, is reeling from the loss of its two-thirds majority in March elections. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, taking the brunt of criticism over the loss, has already promised to step down at some future date to cede the premiership to Najib. District elections are due in July in the United Malays National Organisation and there are suspicions that the verdict in the Altantuya murder trial is being delayed until the elections are completed.
Raja Petra wrote that Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, and Acting Colonel Aziz Buyong and his wife, Norhayati, Rosmah’s aide-de-camp, were present at the scene of the murder and that Aziz Buyong was the individual who placed C4 plastic explosive on Altantuya’s body and blew it up. Both Najib and his wife have repeatedly denied any involvement in the case although Kuala Lumpur has been buzzing for months with rumors of their complicity.
Shaariibuu was executed by two shots to the head and her body was blown up with military explosives in a patch of jungle near the suburban city of Shah Alam. One of Najib’s closest friends, Abdul Razak Baginda, once the influential head of a political think-tank, and two of Najib’s bodyguards, Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar of the elite Unit Tindak Khas or Special Police Action Unit, are the subjects of a marathon murder trial that got underway more than a year ago.
Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has ordered the police to conduct a thorough probe into the murder of a beautiful Mongolian freelance model.
K.J’S FATHER-IN-LAW said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan informed him about the murder of 28-year-old Altantuya Shaariibuu.
“I told the IGP he had to investigate the case thoroughly and properly.
“Nobody is above the law. That should be remembered,” he said when asked to comment on the high-profile murder
