Freedom from sex is not repression of sex; it is the understanding of sex. By understanding, one goes beyond it. But that does not mean that you will be angry, against it and antagonistic. You will be blissful. You will bless everybody with the hope that someday, they will also go beyond it.
Religion has to be rooted in the earth. It also has to rise towards the sun. It is like a lotus flower -- rooted in mud and rising towards the sun. The lotus has to be freed from the mud, but the mud has not to be condemned at all, because the mud is nourishment. Your sex energy is nourishment for your samadhi. It is out of the mud of sex that the lotus of samadhi is going to bloom. Never repress it! Never be against it; rather, go deep into it with great clarity, with great love. Go like an explorer. Search all the nooks and corners of your sexuality and you will be surprised and enriched and benefitted.
Knowing your sexuality, one day you will stumble upon your spirituality. Then you become free. Your energy has risen high. Now sex is just like a toy. But you are not angry with other people who are still playing with the toy. You will understand them, too, you will have compassion for them. You would like to help them go beyond, but you will not condemn them... They are not doing anything wrong.
Sex is not a sin. Nobody is ever punished or sent to hell for sex. God has given it to you, you are born with it; you have not created it – like the atom bomb, bayonet, sword, money or politics -- these are inventions of the ugly human mind. These people will go to hell, certainly. But sex is a God-given gift, and it is a great seed. Once it starts sprouting and finds the right soil, it will become a big tree. Millions of flowers will come to it.
It is not only a child that is born out of sex; you will be reborn too! Sex is the very source of creativity. Out of sex new life is born. What can be more valuable than life? God has chosen sex as the vehicle for life. Life comes through sex, in sex, out of sex. And those who know, those who have gone beyond say that another life, spiritual life, also comes through it. You will become twice-born through it, you will resurrect out of it. It is life-giving energy.
Sex is sacred; it is the temple of God. Sex is potential spirituality. How can a seeker be disinterested in it? Yes, he has no personal interest in it. He has gone beyond it; but he is immensely interested. In fact for a man who is free from sex his interest becomes very great. Now, he is interested in everything.
When you are obsessed with sex... you are not interested in poetry, music, beauty... you are only interested in sex. And if sometimes you do show interest in these things it is only because some sexuality is there. That's why 99 per cent of art is sex-based, because 99 per cent of people don't want anything else. Films, novels, books -- even so-called religious books -- are all full of sexuality. Sometimes it is in the name of condemnation, but they go on talking about the physical, the sexual. Sometimes they are obscene. The man who is free of sex, his interest is also free of sex. His interest spreads to the whole of life.
No matter where you bump into your eye candy - at a friend's house, at a bar, a restaurant or even in the midst of a crowded market, the questions remain the same: "What on Earth is he/she thinking? Does he/she really like me? Do I stand a chance?"
But do you know that men and women both are pre-programmed to send out physical clues when they're interested in the opposite sex? A huge advantage of becoming aware of your love interest's body language is that you can now read her mind and predict their next move. Here's how you can understand body language clues...
Her Body
Eye Contact : It all starts with an eye lock, doesn't it? Eyes telegraph unspoken messages and the female species definitely knows how to use this part of their body to their advantage. "I use this trick when I want to attract a guy's attention and no matter how clichéd it sounds, this trick always works!" says Sunaina Sharma, a student. "My first interaction with my wife started through eye contact. She was sitting with her friends on a staircase in college and I was a newcomer. It won't be wrong to say that she literally used her eyes as weapons to trap the prey (me)!" shares Prabhu a corporate executive.
Hot tip : "An eye contact can vary from curiosity, cool assessment to a coy interest in someone. When a girl makes eye contact that lasts longer than a furtive glance, it is a positive move on her part. If a girl looks deeply into a guy's eyes, she's telling him that he's the most charming person in the room. However, a full frontal stare is risky. It may come across as too bold to those men who get freaked out by direct behavior by a woman," says Dr. Upadhyaya.
Exposing : Yes, we know that most women love indulging in skin show, but here we're talking about a particular area: their long and smooth neck. "There was a girl in my office who was infamous for indulging in sex talks with male colleagues. She would always sit with her hair on one side of her shoulder, revealing her slender and perfumed neck. In fact, some of her friends told me once that she purposely did this as she felt it made her look sexy and was a nice way of luring someone for dirty talks," reveals Shailja Thakur, a business analyst.
Hot tip : "When you're reading a woman's body gestures, observe if she tosses her hair over one shoulder frequently. If your answer is in the affirmative, then be assured that the lady has fallen hard for you," says Dr. Akhouri. "It's an indirect act of submission and it not only exposes your neck, but also screams for attention," he adds.
Leg Crossing : The next time you get the chance to sit with your eye candy, observe her leg movements very carefully. While crossing her legs, if her top leg always points in your direction, treat it as a win-win situation. "I personally feel that a woman's whole personality changes as soon as she crosses her legs... it creates a goddess-like aura around her. On my last date, the girl sat with her legs crossed sexily all through the date and occasionally rubbed her thighs. Not only did I got broad hints, but it also was a big turn on for me," says Manu Vohra, a marketing manager.
Hot tip : According to Dr. Upadhyaya., "Leg crossing is suggestive of a nervous or provocative gesture. Often, woman can't help crossing their legs in front of the guy they have the hots for. It is a subconscious gesture that clearly says a man is getting on to her."
Arm Crossing : Crossing of arms by a woman has numerous meanings. "The receptionist in my old office used to sit with her hands and legs crossed every time I was around. Initially, I thought her to be an arrogant lass, but it was only when she asked me out one day that I realised what that meant," says Sagarmani Dhakal, a corporate executive. "The best way to highlight your assets in front of a man is to cross your hands right below your chest and the guy is bound to notice you!," suggests Puja Khanna, a marketing executive. "Whenever I want something more from a guy than just talking and shopping, this is the trick that I apply," she quips.
Hot tip : "Crossed arms signal a woman's vulnerability and it can also be a way of telling a guy that she doesn't like him and doesn't want him around at all. Crossing of arms over her chest is also a clever way of drawing attention towards her assets," explains Dr. Upadhyaya.
Leaning : If you catch your ladylove practically leaning towards your shoulders most of the times she's around you, there is very little chance that she is not madly in love with you! "I went with my colleague for a movie and throughout the film, I could feel her hair on my neck and shoulders. The hint was enough for me to understand that I wasn't a mere colleague for her anymore," says Sunny Kudav, a programmer.
So the next time you want your guy to know he means a lot to you, just put your head on his shoulder, close your eyes and relax! "When my husband and I were just friends, and wanted to graduate to the level of lovers, I kept dropping hints like these. I would quietly lean over his body and say nothing. I wanted him to know that I was dependent on him and that his company was soothing and that life without him would now be difficult," says Shailja Sharma, a housewife.
Hot tip : "There is nothing more pleasurable than to make your love confession indirectly to your man. If a woman leans on a man, it's a sign of acceptance. It means she thinks the guy is dependable and trustworthy. She has found in you her dream man," tells Dr. Akhouri.
HIS BODY
Eyebrow flash : Pay attention to your crush's eyebrows the next time you meet him, for this gesture can convey his likeability for you. "Whether you walk the corridor of a corporate office or go shopping in a crowded street, you will find at least a dozen men staring at you with their raised eyebrows. This gesture is too obvious to go unnoticed," says Drishika Chowdhry, a model.
Hot tip : "When the person we're attracted to comes before us, our first reaction is that of raising our eyebrows", says Dr. Pramod Upadhyaya. "It lasts about a fifth of a second and it happens to everyone," he adds.
He's checking out your body : His eyes take a tour of your body, stopping for a moment to scan the sexiest parts. "Guys do this all the time. I remember a guy from final year whom I dated for a couple of months. He would make it a point to scan my body as soon as I entered the class. And the strangest part was that he would want to me see his act," holds Ritu Rauthan, an MCA student. "If one wants to end up in bed with a girl, he needs to throw strong signals and the best way to do it is to let her see you when you are exploring every part of her body with your eyes," says Vishal Khandelwal, a web designer.
Hot tip : "When a guy lets you see him checking out your body, it's a way of indirectly telling the opposite sex: 'I'm considering you as a sexual partner'," says Dr.Tapas K Akhouri, a body language trainer.
His hands are on your body : This means the guy is subconsciously drawing your attention to his assets. Whichever part a man aims at is the most meaningful part to him. "My boyfriend used to position his chest towards me while talking and sometimes he would put his hands in his back pockets and walk. When we grew close he told me that these were the areas where he loves my touch the most," says Anu, a hotel receptionist.
Hot tip : "Guys generally do this to highlight their physical size and body confidence," mentions Dr. Upadhyaya. "Men point at their best sexual assets and at the parts of the body where they would most like to be touched. For example, if during a conversation, he stands with his hands on his hips, he wants you to touch and admire his bottom," he adds.
He'll start playing with circular objects : Ever wondered why? They remind him of a woman's assets. "My best friend had a habit of fiddling with rolled magazines, newspapers, paper weights and any round object he could lay his hands upon, whenever we were together. Once he caught me in private and tried to get physical. I was bewildered. Later I read about this body language cue in a magazine and realized what his gestures meant. He always had sexual thoughts on his mind," says Priya, (name changed on request), a BPO worker.
Hot tip : "Men sometimes start playing with round objects while talking to the girl they have a liking for. They may squeeze a glass or start rolling it. The reason being their sexual inclination towards that particular girl," explains Dr. Upadhyaya.
He touches his face a lot : One of the ways in which a man's body speaks of his ardent feelings is the way he touches his ears, rubs his chin and pats his cheeks with the back of his fingers in front of his lady love. "I touch my face and neck quite a lot in front of the girls I have the hots for. It is something that happens involuntarily with me...mostly when I am nervous," says Jitender Bharadwaj, a BPO employee.
Hot tip : "It's a mix of nervousness and excitement. Attraction is a dangerous matter and our body can knowingly or unknowingly reveal it in ways that are quite unfamiliar to most of us. Out lips and mouth become sensitive to touch and other stimulations," says Dr. Akhouri.
Which part of the body attracts the opposite sex?
Do you honestly want to start taming your mind and be happy? Do you have the right motivation and intention to begin?
Are you serious about it? If the answers to these questions are 'yes', know that there are three prerequisites to keep your mind under control:
First, there cannot be a beginning without knowing what to begin on. So, first, get started on the teachings. Although as Buddhist I would recommend the Buddha Dharma to you, you may choose any other teachings. Whatever you decide on, please have confident faith in it. You need to have a competent teacher to help you find answers to questions, to enable you to overcome roadblocks on the way. Masters say: "Learning to meditate without proper understanding of the teachings is like trying to climb a tree with no hands!" You must know what to meditate on before starting, and for this, you need to have a reasonable understanding of your lineage teachings. A special motivation or bodhichitta must be humbly awakened within to begin spiritual practice.
Second, Tibetan wisdom says: "Gompa ma yin, kompa yin", which means: Meditation is not, getting used to is. Meditation cannot be 'done', or for that matter done sporadically. It is not enough to stay calm during the practice and be volatile right through the day. You have to get so comfortable with meditation that it becomes embedded in your system. It becomes something that we can do anywhere and anytime and then finally all the time! However, to reach this stage, you have to calm the mind to a reasonable level of steadiness. How? The Buddha taught 84,000 ways to calm down and ease negative emotions. There are countless ways to meditate, choose yours. Be regular with your meditation; assign a time for it daily. Early mornings suit me.
Finally, be ever vigilant of the mind, of its thoughts and emotions. In an average human mind, over 50,000 thoughts and emotions come and go each day. Just let them be. Don't engage them. Especially the disturbing, negative ones. Let them rise and fall. Be at peace with their rise and subsequent fall. Never get difficult with them. They will go just as they have come. Look at the mind like an ocean and the rising and falling thoughts and emotions like the waves. Whoever has heard of the ocean being disturbed by the waves? Be like the old grandfather watching the child play. He knows the pranks going on and is amused by them too, but is vigilant of the child not causing any harm to himself or to anyone else around. In short, be mindful. The mind can slip away faster than you have realised its departure.
We take so much trouble and spend much money to get physical exercise in a gym. Why not consider a little bit of time and no money for our mind's wellness too? Imagine a world of people with strong bodies and untamed minds! It would be a terrifying place to live in, isn't it? An approach to tone both would be in everyone's interest.
Now that you will begin in right earnest, whatever goodness accrues from this, dedicate all of it to your near and dear ones, your teacher, the elderly or those you are indebted to in your life and other sentient beings around you. This way more benefit, peace and happiness will come your way.

A GRAPHIC video clip of a former Singaporean air stewardess and part-time actress having sex with a man has been circulating online.
The four-minute clip, which focused nearly entirely on the woman in explicit poses performing sex acts, is the latest in a growing and dangerous trend among young adults who take compromising pictures of themselves or let others do so.
But unlike the other clips that have surfaced online of relatively unknown local victims, the woman in this video is a celebrity of sorts.
The New Paper believes she is a part-time actress who has appeared in television dramas on the local Malay TV channel Suria.
The video looks to be taken by the man.
It also appears to have been taken with the actress’ knowledge, as she is the focus of the video throughout.
The woman in her 20s, a former air stewardess, did not want to say much about the video when contacted by The New Paper yesterday.
When asked if she was the person in the video, she simply said it was “personal info” she did not wish to divulge.
When asked if she was upset by the video, she replied: “If you were in the video, would you not be upset?”
A hotline caller who claimed she was a friend of the woman in the video said that the clip surfaced in the last two days on a US-based media-sharing site that also included two still photographs of the woman in a bikini posing with friends.
The site allows users to create, share and discuss blogs, photos, videos and music with others.
The video of the woman was taken down by yesterday evening.
According to support staff from the site, the account of the woman was created on Tuesday and cancelled by the creator earlier yesterday.
The support staff have also said that “if this was an illegal act and the authorities contact us with a subpoena, we will provide whatever information we can”.
This same clip of the woman and two others that showed her naked also appeared on a sitepopular with Malay artistes in the region.
Those too were removed within a day.
The friend of the woman said that the woman was “very upset” when bikini pictures of her appeared last year, but these videos were “shocking” in comparison.
The woman acted in several drama series.
The New Paper understands that the woman is no longer on contract with MediaCorp.
Those familiar with the woman’s TV appearances were “shocked and disgusted” by the video.
Mr Muhammad, a driver in his 30s, said that he found the link to the woman’s video through a Facebook friend’s profile and watched the video yesterday morning.
“I was shocked to see it, especially since she has not been on television for the last few years. It is strange that this has suddenly surfaced,” he said.
A media executive who only wanted to be known as Serena, 31, said: “The video was disgusting. Who knew that a ‘girl-next-door’ type like her could be so naughty.”
Lawyers and counsellors interviewed yesterday touched on the growing trend of “camwhoring” and the dangers it poses.
More people are open to the idea of taking such pictures these days, while the Internet and the wide range of gadgets with cameras make it that much easier to film, and distribute the images.
According to entertainment lawyer Samuel Seow from Samuel Seow Law Corporation, it is an offence to make such videos.
Said Mr Seow: “They ought to know that such content is considered obscene. As long as you are the one filming it, you are the maker of the obscene content.”
According to Section 29 of the Films Act, an offender can be fined between $20,000 and $40,000, or jailed for up to two years, or both, if found “making” or “reproducing” obscene films.
It is also an offence to possess obscene video clips or pornographic material. Those caught can be fined $1,000 per film, up to a maximum of $40,000.
In the case of a woman who is a willing party in the clip, Mr Seow said she “she cannot claim that someone has infringed her privacy”.
However, because the reputation of the woman is reduced through the dissemination of this private video, it can constitute “defamation” of the woman and she can try to file a defamation claim against the person who leaked it.
The Straits Times reported in July last year that counsellors say there is an increase in people who indulge in “camwhoring”.
Mr Mani Joseph, the assistant director of the Asian Women's Welfare Association Family Service Centre, said he sees about five young people who have taken such photos – some of whom have posted them online – each day.
This was rare in the past, he said. “Youth used to be shy. Now, they are bolder,” said Mr Joseph, who has counselled some who post topless photos of themselves online.
Dr Carol Balhetchet, director of youth services at the Singapore Children’s Society, said she has had to counsel one teen every fortnight against such behaviour. Such acts were previously unheard of, she added.
“Many don’t realise how easily the material can leak out to the Internet.”
